Project done in collaboration with Gijs and Patrick, green worker at UW groen, and the Centraal Museum Utrecht, in the context of their exhibition "Over de Nnodzak van tuinieren" (About the necesity of gardening) to be seen from September 2021 to January 2022.
We selected a few areas in Lunetten where we would let the "onkruid" (so called "bad weeds") grow in the public plantations, in order to see what plant species are growing naturally here, how they interact with the species that have been planted by the city and the rest of the ecosystem, what they tell us about the soil quality. But also, how do they look and feel, and do resident like to see them or prefer a black soil?
